MTV's Online Harassment poll

In a recent survey, 56 percent of teens and young adults reported that they'd been harassed online in some way.

More than half of all teens and young adults say they have been bullied or harassed online, according to the results of a new poll on Internet behavior. Some of the most common forms of harassment include posting something online that's not true, writing things online that are "mean" and sharing texts or other messages that were meant to stay private. MTV's "a thin line" program says that it takes a harmless joke to become a big deal that can permanently harm someone. This years survey is 6 % more people that have been harassed than the one in last year. 2011 is 56% and 2009 was 50%.
